How Many Pizzas for a Kids’ Party?
For a kids’ party, the usual rule is 1.5 to 2 slices per child. That means one large pizza with 10 slices usually feeds about 5 to 6 kids, depending on age and what else is on the table.
If there’s cake, chips, party bags, fairy bread, nuggets, or fruit platters, kids almost always eat less pizza than parents expect. Adults, on the other hand, can quietly wipe out half the order if you forget to account for them.
Quick guide
- 10 kids: 2 large pizzas
- 15 kids: 3 large pizzas
- 20 kids: 4 large pizzas
- 25 kids: 4 to 5 large pizzas
If parents are staying and eating too, add extra pizzas for them separately. Don’t lump them in with the kids or you’ll run out.
What usually works best
For most children’s parties, it’s safer to order slightly fewer pizzas than you would for the same number of adults. Kids pick, graze, run around, and then come back for cake.
The bigger mistake is forgetting variety. If you order all one topping, half the kids will decide they suddenly hate it. Two or three simple flavours is usually the safest move.

FAQs
How many slices does each child eat?
Usually 1 to 2 slices, depending on age and what else is served.
Should I order for parents too?
Yes, absolutely. Adults can easily destroy the pizza budget if you forget they’re eating too.
Is it better to over-order?
By a little, yes. One extra pizza is usually enough insurance.
