Worked example
A UPS with roughly 600Wh of battery capacity running a 250W load at around 80% efficiency has about 480Wh usable. That gives you roughly 1.9 hours on paper, and usually a bit less once reality joins in.
Best use cases
UPS units make the most sense for routers, NAS boxes, modems, small home-office setups and anything that really hates dirty shutdowns.
