About the Canberra Matrix
The Canberra Matrix is a points-based assessment used by the ACT Government to rank and invite skilled migrants for state/territory nomination under:
- Subclass 190 โ Skilled Nominated Visa (permanent)
- Subclass 491 โ Skilled Work Regional Visa (temporary, pathway to permanent)
Applicants are invited in rounds based on their Canberra Matrix score and occupation demand. Higher scores are generally more competitive.
Typical competitive scores are 70+, but invitation thresholds vary by occupation and round. Some occupations receive invitations at lower scores; high-demand occupations may require higher scores.
You must also meet Federal Government requirements including the points test (minimum 65 points) and English language requirements.
