How to calculate tiles and grout
Tile quantity depends on tile size, grout joint width, wastage from cuts, and whether you're laying straight or on a diagonal.
Wastage guide
- 10% (standard): Straight lay, rectangular room, minimal cuts.
- 15% (diagonal): Tiles laid at 45°, or rooms with many obstacles.
- 20%+: Complex patterns, herringbone, or rooms with lots of angles.
